Streetart Weather App

Most weather apps seem to encourage users to stay indoors, with their constant flow of special messages and alerts. My weather app invites you to get outside, enjoy the day, and see some artwork. You can read more about my process on the creative computing page.

My On-Ramp to Coding

I fell in love with coding once I began routinely working with the p5.js library. Lucky for me, New York City's CS4ALL initiative provided educators with the opportunity to attend rigorous and engaging professional development workshops focused on various curricula built by and for educators. The community and the workshops were so nurturing and inspiring, it put me on a path to pursue a career in tech. Thank you CS4ALL!

Drawing to See

In 2019, the brilliant Nell Painter published a memoir, Old in Art School, that made a profound impact on me. The book allows readers to peek in and follow along as Painter transitions from her esteemed career as a historian teaching at Princeton to pursue a bachelor's degree in art. Anyone who ever feels like they are 'too old' to pursue a new interest will find inspiration in this moving account. I wasn't even mid-way through the book when I decided: I can learn to draw too! And so, I started my studies at the Art Students League in Manhattan. You can see some of my work on the sketchbook page.
